SMS & Messaging Policy
This SMS & Messaging Policy describes the text messaging program operated by Aegis Real Estate & Investments, Inc. (“Aegis,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) and the rights and obligations of recipients. This policy is intended to comply with the federal Telephone Consumer Protection Act (“TCPA”), Federal Communications Commission rules, the CTIA Messaging Principles and Best Practices, U.S. mobile carrier Application-to-Person 10-Digit Long Code (“A2P 10DLC”) requirements, the California Consumer Privacy Act, and California consumer protection laws.
1. Program Description
Brand: Aegis Real Estate & Investments, Inc. — California real estate brokerage, BRE License No. 01100487.
Program purpose: Communicate with prospective and current clients about real estate inquiries, property showings, listings, transaction status, scheduling, and (only where you have separately opted in) marketing and educational content about California real estate.
Program type: Two-way conversational and notification messaging (Mixed program under 10DLC).
Sending number: A 10-digit long code or short code registered to Aegis.
2. Message Types You May Receive
- Conversational — replies to your inquiry, scheduling messages, follow-up after a meeting or showing.
- Transactional — updates on a transaction in which you are a party (e.g., contingency removal reminders, document status, escrow milestones).
- Informational — appointment reminders, market notes specific to your stated interests.
- Marketing (only if you have separately opted in) — new listings, open-house invitations, market reports.
3. Express Written Consent (Opt-In)
You will receive text messages from Aegis only after you have provided prior express written consent, in accordance with the TCPA, by:
- Checking an unchecked opt-in checkbox on a Site form that clearly discloses the program;
- Replying to a verification message we send after you submit your number; or
- Texting a keyword (e.g., JOIN) to our published number.
Consent to receive marketing text messages is not a condition of any purchase, listing, representation, or other transaction with Aegis. You can request our services without consenting to marketing messages.
By checking this box, I agree to receive text messages from Aegis Real Estate & Investments at the mobile number I provided, including messages sent using an automated system, about my inquiry, property opportunities, and (where I separately opt in) marketing. Message frequency varies. Message and data rates may apply. Reply HELP for help, STOP to cancel. Consent is not a condition of purchase. See the SMS Policy and Privacy Policy.
4. Message Frequency
Message frequency varies based on the nature of your engagement. Conversational and transactional messages occur as needed. Marketing messages, if you opt in, will not exceed approximately 4 messages per month unless you separately request more frequent updates.
5. Message and Data Rates
Message and data rates may apply. Charges depend on your mobile carrier and plan. Aegis does not charge a separate fee to send or receive program messages, but standard SMS, MMS, and data rates from your carrier do apply.
6. Opt-Out and Help (STOP / HELP)
You can opt out at any time. The following keywords are supported on every program message:

Sample HELP reply: “Aegis Real Estate & Investments. Help: (714) 590-9977. Reply STOP to cancel. Msg&data rates may apply.”
Sample STOP confirmation: “You are unsubscribed from Aegis Real Estate messages. No further messages will be sent. Reply START to resume.”
7. Supported Carriers
This program is intended to be supported on AT&T, T-Mobile (including former Sprint), Verizon Wireless, U.S. Cellular, Boost, Cricket, MetroPCS, Google Fi, Consumer Cellular, and most other major U.S. carriers. Carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
8. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old and the account holder of (or authorized to give consent for) the mobile number you submit. By providing your mobile number, you represent and warrant the same.
9. Privacy — SMS Data is Not Sold or Shared for Marketing
Phone numbers, message content, opt-in status, opt-out status, and other information collected through this SMS program are used solely to operate the program and provide our real estate services. Aegis does not sell, rent, share, or otherwise transfer mobile phone numbers, opt-in data, or message content to third parties for their independent marketing purposes. We share information only with service providers (e.g., the SMS platform we use to send messages) under contract to use that information solely to operate the program on our behalf, and with parties as described in our Privacy Policy. Carriers and platform providers may have visibility into delivery metadata in the ordinary course of routing messages.
10. California-Specific Notice
If you are a California resident, you have rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act regarding the personal information we collect through this program. See our Privacy Policy for a description of those rights and how to exercise them. California is a two-party consent state under California Penal Code §§ 631 and 632. We do not record SMS conversations beyond the standard message logs maintained by our SMS platform for the operation of the program.
11. Changes to the Program
We may modify or discontinue the program at any time. Material changes to this Policy will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date and, where required, communicated by message to active subscribers.
